ITF England President Attends ManchesterTKD School

The current ITF England President Master G. Miller VII Degree Head Umpire UKTA , AETF Umpire & Ex-GB Coach attended ManchesterTKD School on the 25th of October for a North-West Area workshop 'Introduction to Competition'.

Schools in attendance where ManchesterTKD, HuddersfieldTKD, WirralTKD, DerbyTKD & SunnybankTKD.

The workshop ran by Master Miller for two hours covered pattern & sparring with special attention to what an umpire is looking for.

Master Miller covered the technical aspects of pattern i.e the generation of sign wave, speed & power. During sparring there was discussion over tactics & how to use the opponent to your advantage, the current scoring system and target area was also focused upon.

On behalf of the North-West Tae Kwon-Do Schools ManchesterTKD would like to thank Master Miller for an excellent and informative workshop.

European Championships Achievement

ManchesterTKD are proud to announce that they have a European Champion!

Felix Lopez IV Degree Blackbelt England Captain was crowned 2007 Male Senior Power Champion in Tallinn, Estonia on Sunday the 21st of October. There was over 17 countries within this division.




4 NATIONS TOURNAMENT

ManchesterTKD is proud to announce that England where the winners of the 4 Nations Tournament held at Exeter on the Saturday the 6th of October 2007.

For the first time this event was held as a Black Tie Dinner event with First Grand Master Rhee Ki Ha as special guest.

The nations involved were Ireland, Scotland, Wales & England making this a truly international event. The teams generally consisted of the current Squad members who will attend the European Championships later this month in Tallinn, Estonia.

The event consisted of Pattern, Sparring and Power Test.

Ireland won the pattern section with England in second place, Wales third & Scotland fourth.

Wales won the sparring section with a fantastic team of ex-european & world champions, England achieved second place, Ireland third & Scotland fourth.

England won the power section with a team of ex-european & current world champions, Wales achieved second, Ireland third & Scotland fourth.

This was enough for England to secure the win.

ManchesterTKD would like to congratulate the England Squad on there recent win, hopefully they can carry this winning streak on & achieve European Glory!!




Latest Medal Haul at the English Open 2007

Congratulations are in order to students of ManchesterTKD once again. The English Championships was held in Crawley at the K2 Arena.

Brother & Sister Tom & Katie Foxcroft entered the Junior Blue Belt Categories for Pattern & Sparring. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful on gaining any medals on this occasion. However, they put up an excellent show as always. Well done.

Finally Junior Blackbelt Connor Jones I Degree achieved Silver in Junior Ist Degree Pattern & Bronze in Special Technique. Congratulations once again Connor.

The next Championships will be in November the UK Open in Cardiff. Instructors & Blackbelts would like all students of ManchesterTKD to consider entering the championships and support their School on the quest of being ranked in the UKTA's Top Ten School's.

There will also be a Special entrant not to be missed! Due to the UKTA's 40th Anniversary Mr Rose V Degree will be coming out of retirement for this Championships only entering the new Veteran Class.

The Team will consist of all Individuals and will undertake Pattern, Power, Sparring & Special Technique
